Beneficiaries ListFounded in 1952, the Theta Charity Antiques Show of Houston raises funds for local educational, art, medical and community assistance organizations while providing a cultural experience for the city of Houston.
Permanent BeneficiariesBAYOU BEND COLLECTION AND GARDENS, MFAH – A grant to provide funding for the ongoing acquisition of early American furniture, perpetuating Miss Ima Hogg’s vision to expose Texans to our nation’s heritage through furniture and the arts.
CHILD ADVOCATES - A grant to provide partial funding to assist the organization with its mission to provide a caring voice and path for children who are in the protective services system.
TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL CANCER CENTER - Since 1975, the Theta Charity Antiques show has provided financial support to care for patients with pediatric cancer. In 2006, Antiques’ Show funds established the “Donald J. Fernback, M.D. Lectureship Series, presented by Houston Alumnae of Kappa Alpha Theta”. The series enables nationally and internationally recognized experts to present at research conferences. It plays an important role in educating medical students, pediatric residents, and the largest pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship training program in the United States aimed at producing the next generation of leaders in the field.
KAPPA ALPHA THETA FOUNDATION – A grant to fund nine named scholarships honoring Houston Thetas, including one named on behalf of the Theta Charity Antiques Show.
2011 BeneficiariesAMAZING PLACE - A grant to fund the educational offerings and services aimed at supporting the family caregivers of the adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer's (or related dementia) who take part in the day care programs at Amazing Place.
CAMP FOR ALL - A grant to support the capital project, Reaching for the Stars * A Campaign For All. This project will allow Camp For All to finish the camp's original master plan by building staff housing and a multi-purpose center for campers. Camp For All is a barrier free camp for children and adults with challenging illnesses or special needs and their families. TIRR FOUNDATION - A grant to fund a pediatric neuroregenerative clinical trial focused on restoring neurological function in children who have sustained a spinal cord injury or stroke induced brain injury. Mission Connect is a collaborative neurotrauma research project created, led and funded by TIRR Foundation.
TUTS, THE RIVER CAMP - A grant to fund the summer camp's nurse's position. An affiliate of Theatre Under The Stars, The River's mission is to provide an accessible, affordable, fine arts education to special children and their siblings, ages 2 to 19, who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, or are economically disadvantaged.

Charitable OrganizationThe Theta Charity Antiques Show is a 501(c)(3) organization. Funds from the show are obtained solely through underwriting, advertising sales, and ticket sales and NOT from the sale of antiques displayed at the show. |
